Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Bluegrass Awards Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives 2020’s Elizabeth Carey Nahra Legacy of Love Award'

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass (RMHC®) recently hosted their first-ever virtual Gala & Auction during which they awarded Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives with the organization's highest honor: the Elizabeth Carey Nahra Legacy of Love Award.

Each year, a person or organization that has gone above and beyond to inspire hope and support to RMHC’s guest families is presented with this eponymous award. South Kentucky RECC is one of Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.

"For the past four plus years, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives has generously served the people and communities of the Commonwealth and dedicated itself to taking care of those who take care of their people,” said Nate Graham, Executive Director of RMHC of the Bluegrass. “Touchstone Energy's continued and expanded support of RMHC of the Bluegrass has provided critical comfort and care for children battling illnesses and their loved ones fighting alongside them. It is with gratitude and privilege that we recently announced Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy as our 2020 Elizabeth Carey Nahra Legacy of Love Award Recipient."

"On behalf of Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, we want to thank Nate and the entire Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass team for this honor," said Ken Simmons, South Kentucky RECC CEO. "Connecting the people of electric cooperatives to benefit members and their communities makes Touchstone Energy Cooperatives different from traditional power companies. Above all, we are committed to the communities we serve because we know the power of human connections."

Touchstone Energy Cooperatives represents a nationwide alliance of member-owned electric co-ops, including yours. Collectively, it delivers power and energy solutions to more than 700 local electric cooperatives across 46 states.

Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are sponsors of RMHC of the Bluegrass and Kentuckiana in Louisville. Co-op employees and their families volunteer to help out by providing meals, restocking supplies, cleaning and decorating the facility.

In 2019, RMHC of the Bluegrass served 272 New & Returning Families from 60 of Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives’ service counties totaling 5,105 nights of lodging & care. This symbiotic partnership is a gold standard example of corporate - and community - social responsibility serving people in-need.
