Join SKRECC in Supporting Ronald McDonald House Families
South Kentucky RECC members and employees are once again coming together to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Lexington, helping provide comfort and care to families during some of life's most challenging moments.
Throughout July, South Kentucky RECC is collecting essential household and pantry items for the Lexington Ronald McDonald House, which offers lodging, meals and support for families whose children are receiving medical treatment at area hospitals.
"When families have a child in the hospital, everyday necessities are often the last thing on their minds," said Morghan Blevins, SKRECC Director of Communications. "By donating simple items like snacks, paper towels and personal care products, our members can help provide a home-away-from-home and allow families to focus on what matters most—their child's recovery."
Like any home, the Ronald McDonald House relies on everyday supplies to serve the families who stay there. Donations needed include:
- Shelf-stable microwavable meals
- Individually packaged snacks and crackers
- Breakfast items, including breakfast bars and flavored oatmeal packets
- Drinks, including K-Cup coffee pods and bottled water (cases)
- Travel-size personal care items, such as deodorant, soap and lotion
- Food storage supplies, including aluminum foil, plastic wrap and zipper storage bags
- Cleaning supplies, including paper towels, trash bags and disinfectant wipes
- Toilet paper
- Laundry detergent pods
All donated items must be new and unopened. A complete wish list is available at rmhclexington.com by selecting "Wish List."
Donations may be dropped off at any South Kentucky RECC district office or at the SKRECC Payment and Service Center in The Somerset Mall through July 31.
