2022 South Kentucky RECC Senior Scholarship Application

I understand that by signing, I will be required to attend various South Kentucky RECC events outlined in the Eligibility Requirements.
Eligibility Guidelines
  1. Eligibility limited to a high school senior whose principal residence in an active account of South KY RECC. The student’s parent or legal guardian must be a member of South KY RECC.
  2. Each applicant must submit the scholarship application with an essay about; Electric Vehicles (EVs) have actually been around for many years; however, in the 21st century, they have seen a huge resurgence because of technological developments and an increased focus on renewable energy and environmental issues. Today, nearly every vehicle manufacturer in the United States and beyond are offering an EV as part of their fleet. In your opinion, what are the positive impacts of electric vehicles? What are the challenges with EVs?
  3. This essay should you be typed between 500-1000 words, double-spaced, with proper paragraphs and punctuation. Statistical information used in the paper should be referenced. Each page needs to have a header with the proper title and student name and should be submitted before the deadline.
  4. Any paper that does not follow the guidelines will not be considered.
  5. Each school’s winner will be decided by committee from South KY RECC.
  6. The winner essays will become property of South KY RECC for unlimited promotional use.
  7. The $1,000.00 scholarships are paid directly to the accredited educational institution of the student’s choice upon enrollment. Requests must be made within a two-year period.
  8. Winning students should attend and be recognized at the South KY RECC Annual Meeting to be held in June, 2022. Winning students need to be available for promotional pictures.
  9. South KY RECC employees, directors, or anyone receiving direct benefits from the cooperative, and members of their immediate families, are ineligible for the South KY RECC Scholarship Program.

Requirements:
 
  • Students must submit a letter of recommendation.
  • Students must submit a photo
  • Students will be required to attend Co-op day at the Somerset Headquarters. Dates tba after winners are selected.
  • Students will submit/upload a short video introducing and telling a little about them self.
Deadline:  April 1, 2022
