South Kentucky RECC Introduces New Director Serving District 7

With approximately 12.16% of the South Kentucky RECC membership participating in the voting process, members have chosen a new director to represent them in District 7.

Retired teacher Brent Tackett will begin serving his new duties in June. Tackett, a lifelong resident of Pulaski County, spent 46 years in the field of education, most of which with the Pulaski County School System. He is currently the Athletic Director and middle school boys' basketball coach at Science Hill Independent School.

Tackett says he is excited to begin serving the members of South Kentucky RECC.

"I have a great love for this community, and I hope that my role on the South Kentucky RECC board of directors will assist with the continuance of providing affordable electricity and ensuring a bright future for all of the co-op members."

South Kentucky RECC CEO Allen Anderson says the election process was a smooth one.

"Our goal was to conduct a transparent election, and I think we succeeded. Holding a director election is a very large undertaking, but we take care that the process is impartial and thorough. This year, we added online voting this time to give members a choice in the way they vote, either by computer or by paper ballot."

Anderson adds that the membership is at the heart of all the co-op does and is what South Kentucky RECC stands for and represents.
